Hadi and Imogen’s Week!!

Hi people! We are from P3 at Calderwood Lodge. Our names are Imogen and Hadi.

We are here to tell you about our week and all the things we have done…

This was a short week because we had 2 days holiday but we got to go on a school trip yesterday which was great.

Yesterday we went on a trip to the Burrell Collection. Our class had been there before in P1. We went there to see the Egyptian gallery and to investigate some facts. We even got to hold real Egyptian artefacts. Our tour guide was called Louise, we thought she was fun and pretty. Miss Jagger couldn’t believe that we couldn’t locate Egypt on a globe, it was embarrassing! Me (Hadi) was bursting to find Egypt because I knew where it was! We tried to remember that is was green on the globe in case we got asked again later and that it is at the top of Africa. There is an upper Egypt and a Lower Egypt. The language is Arabic. The best thing that happened was that we got to wear white gloves and touch 3000 year old things like necklaces, earrings and amulets. And we got to smell what a mummy would smell like! YUCK!!!!

This week it was a brand new Sumdog competition. We were working against the whole of the UK!
Sumdog is fun because we get to win coins to build our own house and it makes maths even more cool. On Wednesday we were 276th in the competition, by Thursday we were 176th and then on Friday we were 42nd. So we worked really hard but didn’t win this time! Well done to Primary 4 who came 7th!!

On Monday and Tuesday we had holiday, I (Imogen) went horse riding, my horse is called Oscar. It was really good because my horse wasn’t too hard to ride. I (Hadi) went on a picnic and cut my hand when I fell on my scooter!

We were so excited to have Mr Fry and Mrs Santi to teach us this week because Miss Jagger had meetings. We did some really cool maths with Mr Fry, he even did an amazing Murder Mystery problem with us (if you ask nicely we will tell you the answer!!!)

For next week we are excited to see if we get to find out who our P4 teacher is and also for Maths because it is always so much fun with Miss Jagger.
