On Mondays from now on we are going to be doing Forest Schools. During Forest Schools we learn about nature and exploring everything . We are doing this because we are learning about John Muir and taking part in the Discovery Award . We like making things in Forest Schools and doing activities like climbing trees. When we are there we find animals like worms, spiders and dead snails or live snails.

On Monday our class got pet snails! We have a big book of rules about them. One of the snails is called Coconut. We learned that they do not like salt and that they can only be fed certain things. One of the snails has a cracked shell because when it was born it did not have enough calcium so we are giving them egg shells , chalk and a cuttle bone which they get calcium out of. They eat lettuce, pear, dragon fruit and much more. I have not touched them yet but I am looking forward to doing it. They used to belong to our teacher’s friend’s daughter.
