Letter and Number Formation Worksheet

Good Afternoon 1a! πŸ™‚

We hope everyone is doing well, you are all doing brilliantly with your home learning!

If you did not receive a home learning pack during our final week at school, we have uploaded the letter and number formation worksheet that was sent home in this pack.

You can find it here:

We will also save this in the ‘Literacy’ tab found under the ‘Our Learning’ tab at the top of the page.

Feel free to print this out to help you practise your formation. There is also a Numberline on the sheet which may help you with your Numeracy calculations.

Home Learning Information 20.3.20

Hi All,

We understand that routine is very important at this time. Each school day we will be providing a Literacy, Numeracy and β€˜Other’ activity to be completed.

We have put together some resources that we hope will help with your daily learning. If your child has been absent from school we will make these available for collection. We will let you know where the collection point is in due course.

We would also ask that you continue to undertake these activities each day:
β€’ Practice lower and uppercase letter formation (using laminated sheet provided as guidance)
β€’ Practice 0 – 20 number formation (using laminated sheet provided as guidance)
β€’ Practice writing full name (using laminated sheet provided as guidance)
β€’ Discuss the date and day of the week. What date/day was it yesterday? What will date/day will it be tomorrow?
β€’ What is the weather like today?

On our daily task sheet we may provide options in the form of a β€˜Chilli Challenge’. The β€˜Chillies’ act as a measure of challenge in which there are three levels. Therefore, we do not expect that your child will complete all β€˜Chilli Challenge’ activities.

As well as academic learning we appreciate the importance of daily physical activity. Each day we have suggested your child may like to participate in Joe Wicks live PE lessons. These will be streamed live on Joe Wicks’ YouTube account every morning at 9am.

Thank you for your co-operation,
Miss McCann and Miss Baillie

Our new diagraphs ‘wh’ and ‘ph’

Hi all!

We have been revising our new diagraphs this week ‘wh’ and ‘ph’. As they are not on our Jolly Phonics programme we have been using some songs from our favourite Jack Hartmaan to help us learn them!

Here are some links:

‘wh’:

‘ph’

We have created our own actions for these sounds.

Can you practise them at home?

wh:

We moved our finger round in a circle infront of us like a wheel.

ph:

We pretended we were answering a phone.

These are tricky diagraphs to learn. Keep practising them at home! Can you spot them in books you are reading?

Our Trip to Amazonia! :)

We are just back from our exciting trip to Amazonia!

We learned about the different animals in the zoo at Amazonia. They are animals that can be found in rainforests like the Amazon.

We got the chance to hold and touch some of the animals!

We found the cockroach very tickly to hold!

We were all very brave when holding the snake!Β

We had lots of fun learning about the animals and their habitats today!
