Learning Round Up 4.10.19 :)

Here are some activities we have enjoyed this week:

We learned two new sounds this week ‘d’ and ‘e’. We have been doing lots of activities in class to help us learn our new sounds.

We have continued to practice our counting this week in class, we are becoming very confident when counting up to 10.

We have really enjoyed our Writing table this week. We were making our own invitations!

This week our Atrium has had some very exciting activities! We have been discovering dinosaurs, doing experiments, dotting some ‘d’s, making elmers and much, much more!

Today p1a were showing racism the red card!

Have a lovely weekend! 🙂

Homework Update 04.10.19

Dear parent/carer,

We are changing the structure of our homework programme in order to compliment the active approach to learning in Primary 1.

We will be continuing to practise our letter formation every week. A new letter formation sheet will be issued on a Monday to be returned as normal on a Friday. In addition to this, we will be uploading a ‘Common Words Grid’ and a ‘Numeracy Grid’ to our class blog.  These grids will feature a choice of lots of different active learning activities for your child to complete. Please pick one activity from each grid every week. The homework task sheet will also be uploaded online to inform you of the sounds of the week and any ‘other’ homework to be completed.

We will also upload a list of sounds and common words that we have learned so far.  These lists will be updated weekly for your own reference.

Thank you for your ongoing support.
