Money, Money, Money!

We have been exploring money this morning.

I have used five 10p’s to make 50p!
I have used two 20p’s and a 10p coin to make 50p
We were doing a shop and we each had a certain amount of money to spend. We also had a shopkeeper who worked out the change.
I used two 20p coins and two 5p coins to make 50p!
I used a 50p coin to make 50! This is the easiest way to make it.

Living and Non-Living Search

Hello everyone!

Today in P2a we braved the windy weather and went on a search for living and non-living things.  We found lots of things that fit into the category of non-living because they didn’t have all 7 living characteristics. Below you can see some of the non-living things we discovered.

We also found lots of living things!

These daffodils can grow! That’s one of our characteristics – Hannah & Emily

We also came across some things that used to be living but aren’t anymore.

This is made out of wood, which which comes from a living tree. This means it was living but it isnt anymore – Molly and Miah

Thank you for keeping up with our adventures during Science Week. We are excited for tomorrow as we have some special visitors coming in!

From, P2a

Senses Science Experiment

We have been learning about senses.

Today we carried out experiments to test our senses.

First we had to listen to different sounds and guess what they were. We then had to smell jars that were covered in foil and guess what was inside. Next we tasted different juices and guessed which flavour they were. We then felt inside a bag and guessed what was in it. Lastly we put a blindfold on and talked about what it felt like to not have the sense of sight.

‘My favourite bit of this experiment was getting to taste the juice but the third one was really disgusting’ – Molly

‘ My favourite part was smelling the covered jars’ – Eve

‘ I enoyed using the blindfold and listening carefully to my friends that were directing me’ – Jude

‘ I enjoyed feeling in the bag. Some were very tricky!’ – Peggy

Bow Shop

Today in P2a we have created a Bow Shop. We have used different materials to create hair bows. We priced our products and are going to sell them to our friends using fake money.

Investigating the World

This afternoon in P2a we have been looking at globes and maps.

“We split up into groups and investigated where different countries are located on the globe” – Emily

” We labelled a map of our local area” – Ami

“We looked at an Atlas and we thought it was really interesting” – Grace

” We learned that the imaginary ring around the Earth is called the Equator ” – Molly

” Countries close to the equator are warm” – Saransh

“Thank you for looking at our school blog” – Daniel
