Church and Christmas Party

Exciting day tomorrow with church in the morning and the party in the afternoon. Miss Edminston is more than happy for the children to wear their party clothes all day if they wish. Please send in an extra wee snack to have during the party.

Wishing everyone one a very merry Christmas and a fab 2020!  🎅🏻🎄

Weighing and Baking fun!

We spent a lovely couple of lessons this week learning about weighing. They unanimously decided they prefer digital scales! We then put our skills to the test by carefully weighing out our ingredients to make shortbread. They were so good they could they could be on Junior Bake Off. Well done 👌.

Baking!

Next week we will be baking shortbread. The ingredients are; butter, sugar and flour. Please advise us if there are any dietary/allergy considerations, thank you.

Beautiful letter writing this morning in 3a.1 :-)

The children wrote lovely letters to Santa this morning. We worked hard on getting the layout of a letter correct. They gave very specific details of why they think they have been good all year and their Christmas wish could be about gifts or the year ahead or for their loved ones. They melted hearts ❤.

Homework for p3a.1 and p3a.2

Sorry for the late post!  As we are updating the homework jotters this week, please complete the following activities.

Literacy: Please read a winter/Christmas themed story for pleasure.

Numeracy: Please play Sumdog.

Technology challenge – we are creating our own Gingerbread houses on Friday.  Please bring in up to 3 items which you think would be useful for this challenge e.g. cardboard boxes, sweetie wrappers etc

We will send home the jotters on Wednesday for you to have a look at after our assessments and we would ask that they come back on Friday ready for January!

Thank you 🙂

Lapland Budgeting

P3a.2 have been busy budgeting a trip to Lapland this week! Today we worked in groups to split the £700 budget up to allow us to plan all the different parts of the trip. We found this tricky at first but we were able to adjust how much money we allocated to each part of the trip when we started planning.

I enjoyed  choosing the activities for the trip. It was hard not to overspend because we thought all the activities looked great but we didn’t have enough money for that – Harry C

I enjoyed working out the budget with my group because we worked well together as we all listened – Alfie

I liked choosing the flights and writing down why my partner and I picked the flight we did. We choose EasyJet flight because we thought the flight times were the best. – Ami

Edgar’s Apology

For writing this week we wrote an apology letter for the Town People from Edgar the dragon from the John Lewis advert.

P3a.1 and P3a.2 then came together and assessed work from the other class. We worked very hard to ensure that we gave our partner valuable feedback which explained what had went well and what our partner could work on next time.

Well done P3a!

Planning a Trip to Lapland!

This afternoon P3a.2 held our Open Classroom. We were very lucky to have lots of visitors into our class this afternoon to help us with our task. We started our new Budgeting topic which is to plan a trip to Lapland. We started off by considering what we will need to plan and how much money we think it will cost. Thank you for all your help this afternoon, we hope you enjoyed visiting our class.

Homework

This is our last week using the homework grid. This is also the last sound of our block (th as in father) . Please send homework jotters in by Friday to allow us to update and prepare the next block.
