Directions and outdoor learning

We have been learning about directions. We know these are very important for real life. Lots of jobs like drivers and pilots need to know directions. We also think it is important for pirates!

We have learned lots of directional language including forwards, turn, left and right. We played different games, used technology and did outdoor learning with Miss Crook and Miss McCabe.

“We were trying to follow each other’s directions by using counters” – Eilidh

“We were using left and rights to get the same counters and at the right place. Then we would take the board away to see if they were the same” – Mia

“We were learning about direction and we had to get to the right place. We were using mats and a beebot, you had to press the buttons on it” – Jessica

“We were trying to go under stuff and over stuff.” – Dawson

“I was helping Marcy on the bench and I was holding her hand” – Amber

“I appreciate Miss McCabe putting me on the blog. It was cold out there.” – Marcy

“We were making directions how to travel around all of the equipment. We were going under, on, in and beside.” – Gabriel

“We did climbing, we had to choose what we liked to do so we had to go on and some people had to take pictures” – Stephen

“We were going across and balancing. I’m holding the boss tray to tell people what to do” – Kayden

“We had instructions to get on the obstacle course.” – Gregor

It was lots of fun being outside. We were very good as helping each other and risk-assessing ourselves. If things were slippery we slowed down and were very careful. Lots of us were proud of ourselves for trying something new.
