For Maths week we have been learning about money. Have a look below to see the skills we developed.

We decided to use what we learned to raise money for our class.

P1 have been learning about The Gruffalo, we made them Gruffalo products to sell to them. We made products which will help them retell the story and discuss the characters.

Money, money, money

“We are trying to find the coins on the sheet. I know 5p, 10p” – Logan

“We had a 1p, 2p, 50p and a 20p. 50p and 20p have corners and are silver” -Stephen

“I had to match the numbers and the coins” – Kirstyn

“We were counting money and when we were doing it you didn’t just use 1 coin, you need to add it up.” – Kayden

“We were doing calculations and one time I did £100 add £100 and £100 and £100 and it added up to £400!” – Scott

“We had to add up the money to pay for the food. If it was 6p then I would have done a 5p and a 1p” – Mia

“I had to choose food and then sort out the coins and add it up to get the right money. If it was 22p I would give a 20p and 2p” – Eilidh

We are so proud of ourselves! We made £36 with P2/3 next door. We are going to decide as a class what to spend our money on.
