Wednesday – On Wednesday we did some Heart stone with Mrs Nassar and we read some more pages of the book and we found out that Chandra (the main character) has to go on a big quest with 7 mice!

Thursday – We had woodland we made outfits out of sticks and stones, leafs. We also did some P.E out in the MUGA and we started by playing a game then we went onto dodgeball and it was really fun. We also had writing and we had to write a persuasive letter on our favourite tv show, movie, book or sport.

Friday – We started off Friday by doing some maths and we were doing some problem solving and we managed to do 2 of them! Then after break we did some more maths and then after lunch we finished our writing from Thursday and after that we finished our war and ethical trading posters and out fact files and then the secret student (Dilraj) got to do what she wanted and the rest of the class joined in.

P7’s blog 24th – 28th January  By Sophie and Shravya

Maths

In maths this week we were learning symmetry and we were doing a work booklet.

Individual groups were doing BODMAS, decimal fractions and Fractions,

We were all intrigued to know what we were doing for STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art and mathematics) We were drawing circles with a compass on a piece of paper and overlapping them we got to choose if we wanted to colour them in with felt tips, crayons, pastels and paints. We made them very colourful and some of us went for a theme!

Literacy

In literacy we completed some comprehension activities in our groups.

We looked at some Homophones like Leek and Leak.

Writing

In writing we were doing persuasive writing on school uniforms and some people were for having school uniforms and some people were against it. We needed to think of our argument and persuade our reader that we were right.

Are you for or against school uniforms?

RME/Global Goals

In RME we were learning about Humanism and what they don’t and do believe in. Humanist people believe in being kind and caring but don’t believe in god and they also think some planets touched each other and then the big bang happened and the earth appeared.

Mrs Hutchison

With Mrs Hutchison we were doing Music and drama we had to do drama based on a story.

In music we were learning new music notes. We also did what Simon says with music notes by clapping the rhythm  but you must not clap the forbidden rhythm.

Outdoor Education

We continued to look at the impact John Muir has had in the world by looking at National Park in America and Scotland. We compared them and identified similarities and differences.

In the MUGA this week we worked with Mr Wilson and developing our fitness and increasing our speed by looking at how our body works to help propel us forward at a quicker pace.

Thank you to Murray for sharing his war based graphic comics with us.

Well done to Sophie for receiving a commended award at her ballet exams.

Well done to all the Primary 7’s for their continued effort and hard work this week.
