Keeping Safe in Unsafe Situations

We have been using our note taking, drama writing and Lego building skills to identify the dangers of fireworks night and find ways to make it safer.

We worked out what might be unsafe about fireworks night, drawing from our own experiences.

Then we took notes from two different sources on how to keep safe and discovered there were more dangers than we first thought.

We used Mr Chrystal’s and Mr Sparkles’ examples to reports to work out what makes a successful report about Fireworks Night safety.

We created a short drama called “The Safe Fireworks Night” using freeze frames and creative thinking.

Finally we make Brickoramas (Lego dioramas!) with safety cards to show what we have learned about Keeping safe on Fireworks Night (Photos to follow!)

Maths Week in P4a

Maths in Motion

As part of our Maths Week Scotland activities we made marble runs during our outdoor learning time. The skills we used were teamworking skills, creativity, angles and problem solving.

We also did a Maths Relay and raced against each other to answer tricky maths problems. The skills we used were problem solving, not giving up and working as a co-operative team.

Some of us learned a classic card game called Rack-o! The people that know how to play it now will teach others over the next few weeks.

One of our classmates left Crookfur today! We will miss them very much and we all wish them the best of luck in their new school!
