Since it has been Maths week we have been doing a lot of different activities linked to Numeracy and Mathematics! Among them was symmetry. We explored symmetrical and asymmetrical objects both in the classroom and outdoors at woodland.
. .
We were able to have some fresh air in the woodland area where it was dry and full of symmetrical objects too!
.
We are excited to see what learning we will do next week, have a good weekend!
Primary 2B have had another full week with lots of different learning experiences. Here are our highlights:
We have been using a range of concrete materials such as blocks and buttons to explore number concepts.
We further developed our reading skills by using magnifying glasses and chalkboards to search for words in books!
We’ve also been practising different sounds to help us read and write words.
Mrs McKim also did some fun activities to help us learn our colours in French!
As a class we had previously decided to learn about the human body. This week we decided to look at the bones in our body. We began this by working in a group to make the skeleton puzzle as well as making a hand skeleton!
We had a busy week of learning and fun, and can’t wait to see what we will do next week! Have a lovely weekend!
It has been another busy week in school for Primary 2B.
We are continuing to enjoy getting to know each other and becoming more familiar with our new environment and routines. We have been enjoying working on our skills in different areas of the curriculum.
We have been developing our Numeracy and Mathematics skills finding lots of different ways to make different numbers using numicon and beads.
We have been developing our P.E. skills in the gym hall and MUGA.
The sun was shining for our day in the MUGA!
After deciding as a class that we were interested in learning about the human body, we discussed what we already know and what we would like to find out. This will be used to shape our topic.
One of our first tasks was to work in teams to draw the outline of a body and stick down where we thought our organs would go.
Miss Haque took us to the activity trail for some different adventures!
We can’t wait to see what new learning we do next week.
Have a lovely weekend everyone!
Welcome to the first post of Primary 2B!
It has been a very busy first full week back at school. We are getting used to our lovely new classroom and some new routines.
There have been lots of fun games and activities as Miss Haq has got to know us all. These have included circle times and favourite animal charades!
We have been practising lots of our skills including our fine motor control and our handwriting.
Friendship has been a focus this week and we were acting out scenarios on how to be a good friend.
We worked together in teams to create plans of what we would like in our new P2 garden area. There lots of great ideas!
We finished off the week with a funny face!!
We wonder what fun and learning next week will bring!
