Number Zoo, Colour Monsters and Junk DNA

What a quick week it has been in Primary 1a.

In Numeracy we have been discovering the numbers 0 – 3 using our Number Zoo stories and lots of activities to help us write, recognise and use numbers.

We continue to develop our Fine Motor Skills

And our Gross Motor Skills

We enjoyed meeting our P6 Buddies and they have been doing an excellent job of looking after us at lunchtime.

In Literacy, we have been recognising syllables and rhymes.

In the construction area, our building are becoming more complex and we are learning to all work collaboratively.

We have been talking about emotions using the Colour Monster book and the children are all now able to describe how they are feeling using the colours.

And a huge thank you to all of our parent’s who have donated metal bits for our loose parts box. Today we started to create Junk DNA pictures and we were very proud of how this one turned out after some very precise measuring!

It has been so lovely to spend time in the play areas this week and hear the children developing their learning through play.

I hope everyone has a great weekend and look forward to welcoming everyone back on Monday for another great week of learning.
