This week we have been learning more about the Roman.  We have been learning about Roman houses and have built model houses and written an advertisement selling a Roman house.

In maths the reflex group have been learning about data handling, we carried out a survey and created a bar chart based on the survey.  The obtuse group have been adding in tens and hundreds and the acute group have been adding and subtracting.

In reading we have been working on literal and inferential questions.

We went on a school trip the the Glasgow Resource Centre where we found out more about the Romans.  We got to see part of the Antonine wall, we held a gladius (A Roman sword), we examined a piece of mosaic, we built a model aqueduct and an arched bridge out of wooden wedges.

In PE we have been developing our rugby skills.  We have been practising passing the ball to another player who is at our side and behind us.  With Mr. McMillan and Mrs. Grieve we have been developing our athletics skills; running, jumping, landing, balancing and throwing.

In art we created ‘bats flying into the midnight sky’.  We did this by mixing paint colours in circles to create a moon and moonlight.

Slessor had their house reward afternoon on Thursday.  They watched Toy story 4 and had popcorn and a drink.
