The class worked in their math groups and created questionnaires for each other to answer. We focused on making the questions about what they were learning about in maths. We had to think of the questions ourselves. It took some of us 1-2 days to finish our questions.
The class split into groups of four or five and we were given task cards with different maths challenges using natural items.

Primary 6b brought in their own devices to use during Maths Week 2018. Everyone had to download an app and use the app to scan QR codes all over the playground. Each QR code gave a different problem to solve. P6b worked in groups of 4 to solve problems collaboratively.

At the beginning of June there was a Sumdog Maths Competition for all East Renfrewshire schools.
Our class entered and were lucky enough to be one of the daily winners. Overall we finished 6th in the whole competition .
The circles and the triangles have been learning about more than and less than. The crocodiles helped them to remember the correct position of the signs. It only eats big numbers. They were all very successful in this learning.
The squares have investigated 3D objects and in doing so are now able to say how many faces, edges and corners these objects have. They also made these 3D objects from nets that they cut up. Well done to Adam,Cameron C., Daisy and Grace.
Primary 3 collected information on our favourite rainforest animals. We then entered this information into a spreadsheet and created a bar graph. What were our favourite animals ?
Pr. 3 took part in an assembly about Numeracy and Maths. We spoke about the different ways in which we used our maths skills. Through our Social Studies topic on the Rainforest we measured the length of a typical rainforest tree, we made symmetrical butterflies and we located rainforest animals in the playground using map grid references. We were GGGRRREAT and the assembly was enjoyed by all.
