P1 Enrollment
Enrollment for Primary Pupils for session 2013/2014 will take place next week 14th January – 18th January from 1.30pm until 3.30pm. If your child will be 5 between 1st March 2013 and end of February 2014 they are eligible for enrollment.
Please note that all the following documentation should be brought along or your child cannot be enrolled.
- Current Council Tax notice
- A Mortgage Statement or Current Rental Agreement
- Your child benefit letter
- Your child’s birth certificate or passport
Pantomime
Pupils are asked to pay £3 towards the Cost of the M&M Production of Aladdin which will be in Thornliebank Primary on the morning of Wednesday 9th January.
Friday 21st December
A reminder that tomorrow will be a dress as you please day, please wear something festive for Carols Round the Tree.
The school will also close at 2.30 pm tomorrow.

Thornliebank Christmas Performances
Please join us for our P4-7 Christmas Performances and the Primary 1-3 Nativity on Thursday 13th December at 9.30am and 1.45pm.
Adverse Weather
Just a reminder to make sure we have up to date emergency contact details. A copy of the procedures we will follow and the information we should have from each parent can be found in the tab: Information – Adverse Weather. Follow the link to the Inclement Weather Letter and fill it in if you have not already done so. It is vital in the event of a school closure that we have someone local to contact, who is able to collect your child, if you are unavailable.

Christmas Fayre
Well done everyone who contributed and helped
out last Saturday. We raised £1200. This money
will help us fund extra activities for all the pupils.
Castle Toward
Primary 7 are having a wet but wonderfully busy time at Castle Toward with Mrs Black, Miss Stewart and Miss Biggin. We look forward to hearing about all their adventures and looking at the photographs upon their return.
Fayre Donation Friday 16th November
Many thanks to all who have already donated children’s books, boxed toys and games, toiletries and fancy goods – please keep sending these items in if you have them.
This week’s donation is boxes of sweets or biscuits – sell by dates after December. We are encouiraging all the pupils to be part of the Christmas Fayre effort abd would urge yoiu to do the same. The money raised will benefit all the pupils in Thornliebank.

Fayre Donation Friday 9th November
This Friday 9th November we are asking for donations of fancy goods and toiletries. Any unwanted or unsuitable small presents such as candles, photo frames, perfumes, toiletry sets or individual toiletries.
All items must be new and/or unopened.
Find Out More Day Wednesday 2nd November
Please come along to have a look at your child’s
work on Wednesday 2nd November from 9.00am until 10.00am and 2.00pm until 3.00pm. Your child will give you a tour of his or her classroom and show you all their latest work.
Fayre Donation Friday 2nd November
This Friday’s donation is new or nearly new children’s books. If you have any in good condition at home please send in no more than 3 per child to school. We are encouraging all pupils to take part in our preparations for the Fayre as part of our school community.
Christmas Fayre
The school’s annual Christmas Fayre will take place on Saturday 1st December from 10.00am until 12 noon. An organising committee of parents and teachers are already working hard. If you are able to help please let us know using the letter which was sent home this week. Please look out for information regarding our Friday donations.
October Holiday
A reminder that the school will be closed
on Friday 12th October to pupils for an in-service day and
on Monday 15th – Friday 19th October for the October school holiday.
Pupils should return at 8.55am on Monday 22nd October.
Lunch
Menus showing hot lunch options for the coming term have been sent home this week. Sandwiches and Baguettes(deluxe) are also available every day.
Cashless Catering
Pupils can put money into their accounts using the machine in the dining room before school (from 8.45am) and after school (from 3.00pm).
Rainbow Day 20th September
Our Rainbow Day event raised £117.50 for school funds. Thanks to all staff and pupils who took part.
Harvest Collection
Our Harvest service will take place on Monday October 8th led by Primary 2.
We are asking all classes to contibute to a Harvest Collection – bring in some packets, jars or tins of food (please check sell/use by dates) the week before the service w/b October the 1st. These will be organised and distributed by our Primary 7 pupils to pensioners locally.
Parent’s Evenings
Parent’s Evenings will be taking place on Tuesday 2nd October and Thursday 4th October from 3.30pm until 6.30pm. A letter will be sent our shortly asking you to choose a preferred evening and/or time, please return these to school as soon as possible.
