Banners created by Primary 4 pupils (Primary 3 last session) are on display at Greenbank Gardens until the 7th of September.
THey were made as part of Greenbank Gardens 250th celebrations.
Pupils are invited to Dress As They Please on Friday in aid of the Betty Cunningham International Trust. This fund set up by the former provost of East Renfrewshire has raised money to build classrooms and nurseries in Malawi. It is a very worthwhile cost. Pupils should bring a suggested donation of a £1 or more. Those pupils not wishing to take part should wear their uniform as normal.
The Nursery Class and Primary 3 are entering a wheelbarrow in The Greenbank Gardens Competition again this year. Last year the nursery won the competition and we are hoping to do well agin this year. Both groups of children have worked very hard and their wheelbarrows look great. We need lots of poeple to visit Greenbank Gardens this weekend and vote for our wheelbarrows. A family letter was sent out with directions to the gardens on Wednesday. Please try to go along and vote for our wheelbarrows.
The nursery class and Primary 1-6 will visit Kelburn Castle and Country Park on Thursday 20th June. The cost for this trip will be £5.50 per child or £5 if there are 3 or more children in a family. All permission forms and money should be sent into class teachers before this date,
Pupils will leave school promptly at 9.30am returning for 3.00pm
A lketter will further information regarding planned activities, clothing and lunch arrangements will be issued shortly in school.
P1-P7 will take part in Thornliebank Sports Day On Monday 10th June from12.30 until 2.30 at Auldhouse Playing Fields.
Pupils should come to school in outdoor PE kit with a school polo shirt and sweatshirt.
They may also bring a water bottle and a small snack for during the sports.
Parents and family members are most welcome to come along and support the pupils during the potted sport and flat race events.
All pupils will return to school after sports and be dismissed at 3.00pm as normal.
Parents will be informaed by text message if the event has to be cancelled due to inclement weather.

Would you like to join a choir in East renfrewshire.
Primary 3 and Primary 7 have the chance to go along to Williamwood High School on Saturday 11th May and sing with the junior or senior choir. There are several sessions throughout the morning. Click on the links to find out more.
The next meeting of the Equalities Forum will take place on 16 May 2013 at Woodfarm High School at 4.30pm.
A reminder that the school and nursery will be closed on Monday 6th May for the May Day holiday.
Wear a pair of trainers to school on Tuesday, along with smart school uniform, in support of the Commonwealth Games. Thornliebank will also have a visit from Clyde the Games Mascot at a special assembly in the morning. We are very lucky as only 24 schools are receiving a visit from Clyde. Clyde will be picking out pupils with eye catching and unusual trainers to receive prizes.

Come to school dressed as your favourite book character this Friday. You will get a chance to show off your costume at the Book Week Assembly when we will also find out the winners of all our Book Week competitions.
Our annual sponsored read will take place on Thursday 7th March. All classes will take part in 30 minutes of reading or reading activities. All money raised will be spent on library resources for our new school library which is looking great. Remember only ask close family and friends to sponsor you.
Thinking Day/Baden-Powell Day
Friday 22nd of February is Thinking Day for Brownies and Guides and Baden-Powell Day for Beavers, Cubs and Scouts. Pupils who are members of these organisations are encouraged to wear their Brownie, Beaver etc uniform to school.
Just a reminder that school in closed to pupils on Friday 8th and Monday 11th and Tuesday 12th February for an in-service day and half term holiday. Pupils return on Wednesday 13th February at 8.55am.
A big thank you to all those pupils who wore Tartan and donated £1 for our charity, Children First. We raised £48.35. Well done to all the pupils for learning poems, dances and songs, everyone thoroughly enjoyed all the performances.
