Parent Council Meeting
All parents are welcome to attend the Parent Council meeting on Wednesday 15 January at 7.00pm in Woodfarm High School.
Dress for the Future
A reminder that all pupils in the nursery and school are asked to come Dresssed for the Future on Friday 22nd November. Come dressed for the job you want to do when you are older.
Certificates will be given out for the most original/unusual jobs at a special assembly on Friday.
Parent Volunteers
Wear Bright Day Friday 25th October
All pupils are encouraged to wear something bright on their journey to school bright jacket, hat, scarf, reflective band etc and bring a £1 donation for Brake – The Road Safety Charity.
P1-3 will be taking part in some Road Safety activities throught this week and the next as part of this Beep Beep day. The JRSO officers will be involved in organising activities and will speak at the assembly.

October Holiday and Inservice Day
A reminder that the school will be closed to pupils on Friday 11th October for an inservice day and from Monday 14th October until Monday 21st October for the school October week.
The school will reopen to pupils at 8.55 am on Monday 21st October.
Harvest Assembly
Parents of Primary 2 pupils are invited to their Harvest Assembly at 9.30 on Friday 4th October.
All pupils are invited to bring in a donation – tinned, packets with use by dates checked to donate to a local sheltered housing association.
Parent’s Evening
A reminder that parent’s night appoitments are this evening, THursday 3rd October from 3.20pm – 5.50pm and 6.30pm until 9.00 pm in the gym hall.

Woodfarm High School: Primary 5 – 7 Open Event
4.00 – 6.00pm on Tuesday 8 October 2013
Mrs Stewart, Head Teacher, warmly welcomes parents and pupils from primary 5 – 7 to see S1 – S3 Woodfarm pupils presenting and working on Curriculum for Excellence experiences as part of the broad general education. In addition to subject specific activities, there will also be a focus on aspects of literacy, numeracy and health & wellbeing which are the responsibility of all.
Parents may select from a range of workshops, presentations and drop in sessions.

Right On Time Week 9th – 13th September
A reminder that Thornliebank’s Right On Time week will be next week. During this week the classes will record the percentage of pupils who are Right on Time at 5 to 9. THe winning class or classes will receive the school trophy until the next Right on Time week.
A reminder that our school day begins at 5 to 9 or 8.55 am. It is very important all pupils are in class ready to learn to avoid disrupting the learning and teaching.
Our 2nd Green Flag
Thornliebank were recently awarded our second Green Eco Flag. This is great news and a reflection of all the hard work by Mrs Culley, The Eco Committee and all the staff and pupils in our school. We thank you for supportiong our efforts in keeping our school grounds clear of litter.

P4 Banners at Greenbank Gardens
Banners created by Primary 4 pupils (Primary 3 last session) are on display at Greenbank Gardens until the 7th of September.
THey were made as part of Greenbank Gardens 250th celebrations.

Swimming Lessons with a Disability
Dress As You Please Wednesday 19th June
Pupils are invited to Dress As They Please on Friday in aid of the Betty Cunningham International Trust. This fund set up by the former provost of East Renfrewshire has raised money to build classrooms and nurseries in Malawi. It is a very worthwhile cost. Pupils should bring a suggested donation of a £1 or more. Those pupils not wishing to take part should wear their uniform as normal.
Greenbank Gardens Wheelbarrow Competition 15th and 16th June
The Nursery Class and Primary 3 are entering a wheelbarrow in The Greenbank Gardens Competition again this year. Last year the nursery won the competition and we are hoping to do well agin this year. Both groups of children have worked very hard and their wheelbarrows look great. We need lots of poeple to visit Greenbank Gardens this weekend and vote for our wheelbarrows. A family letter was sent out with directions to the gardens on Wednesday. Please try to go along and vote for our wheelbarrows.
