Letter to Parents – School Closure

Dear Parent / Carer,

You will be aware of the recent decision by the First Minister that all schools and local authority early learning and childcare settings should close to children and young people with effect from 5 p.m. today (Friday 20 March 2019)

With the exception of families who are part of the vital services required at this time and those children and young people as identified by the Scottish Government, schools will be closed to all pupils. We have made provision for those pupils  to attend St Ninian’s High School on Monday 23 March. Pupils should report the main forum area for registration purposes.

A programme for completion of SQA coursework to best support the young people, not identified above, is currently being prepared and will be issued to parents / carers. Pupils should, when informed, attend school in order to complete this work. We continue to liaise with the local authority and SQA and will provide a more detailed response in relation to the SQA Exam Diet 2020 over the course of the week.

As a local authority and school, or priority is to work together to ensure your child will continue to have a good learning experience.

If your child has been advised not to attend school they should access the materials provided in our Distance Learning Booklet:

At this moment we are confident we will have a complement of staff that will continue to offer your child a learning experience, however we will continue to take our lead from National Guidance including Public Health and as such we will update you in our usual way including school and Council social media sites of any changes to provision.

I would like to express my gratitude for your continued support and understanding at this time.

Best wishes,

John Docherty

Head Teacher
