Prayers

Wednesday 25 April 2018.

Today is the Feast Day of St Mark the Evangelist.

St Mark is the writer of the first Gospel of Jesus. It was written in Rome in 65AD and much of the information about Jesus is likely to have come from St Peter. A major theme of the Gospel is the suffering of Jesus which was an encouragement to the Christians in Rome who were enduring great persecution for their faith. Even for us, there will be times when it may take courage to live our faith and to do what is right.

This morning we ask God to continue to support us in our lives and that on all occasions we have the strength to be examples of faith to others.

Our Father…….

Thursday 26 April 2017.

Today we pray specifically for those called by God to the priestly or religious life.

Heavenly Father, You have created each of us to love You and your people.
You have chosen some to serve by responding to the particular call to the priesthood and religious life. Send your Holy Spirit to stir the hearts of those You have designed to follow this path of spiritual leadership. We pray this petition, faithful and most gracious God, in the name of your Son, Jesus Christ, Our Lord.  Amen.

We ask Mary, the Mother of the Church to pray with us.

Hail Mary…..

Friday 27 April 2018.

Tomorrow is the Feast of St Louis Marie de Montfort, a French Priest born in 1673. In his writings and in his life he showed the important role that Mary, the Mother of Jesus, played in our salvation. St Louis Marie knew that a sure fire way to find and to know Jesus was through his Mother and through the saying of the Rosary.

Today, we pray that we will ask Mary to be with us and lead us to Jesus. We can start this today by making time to visit the Oratory at Lunchtime for Eucharistic Adoration and the Rosary.

Hail Mary….
