Energy Efficiency

As part of wider research into fuel poverty within East Renfrewshire, the council is looking to distribute an energy efficiency and affordable warmth survey to engage with local residents.

The primary goal is to find out how residents are managing their fuel bills and if they are aware of the support that’s available. It’s hoped the survey will help participants to save on their gas and electricity bills and better heat their homes.

Please complete the following online survey.

Thank you for your support.

There are nearly 3,000 retailers on board ready to make a donation, including Amazon, John Lewis, Aviva, thetrainline and Sainsbury’s – it doesn’t cost you a penny extra!

It’s really simple, all you have to do is:

1. Join.
Head to St Mark’s Easyfundraising Page and sign up for free.

2. Shop.
Every time you shop online, go to easyfundraising first, pick the retailer you want and start shopping.

There are no catches or hidden charges and we would be really grateful for your donations.

Think Green

grrr

Starting with ‘Big Energy Saving Week 2015’, Think Green’ hope to encourage staff, residents and school children to do your bit for a greener East Renfrewshire!

We want to reduce overall energy consumption and carbon emissions across the council.  This is better for the environment and could help us assist with Scotland’s ambitious target for reducing our carbon emissions by 80% by 2050: ‘Climate Change (Scotland) Act 2009’.

You could also potentially save energy, reduce your bills and reduce your carbon emissions at home by following our simple tips !

Convoy to Calais

The ER Convoy to Calais has had magnificent support from the schools and nurseries in our communities. I’ve been amazed and made proud by the generosity of schools and parents.  The convoy leaves this Thursday evening and, as we promised, there is an open invitation to pupils, staff and parents to come along to the departure. We leave after school hours, so I know this will be a decision for each family to make.

“The East Renfrewshire Convoy to Calais leaves this Thursday at 8pm from the car park of ER Council HQ in Eastwood Park, Giffnock. They are taking the largest single donation from anywhere in Scotland.  Schools and nurseries from all over East Renfrewshire responded with overwhelming generosity to the appeal.  All parents, children and staff are invited to be there for the send-off. The convoy organisers want to give the families who contributed the opportunity to see their donations leave, and to send the convoy off in style.

We hope you can join us.”
