GUINNESS WORLD RECORD ATTEMPT – MUSICAL BUMPS

We are delighted to announce that Our Lady of the Missions will be attempting to set a new World Record for The Largest Game of Musical Bumps!

This event will take place on Friday 20th April 2018 at 11am at Woodfarm Sports Pitches.

The current world record is 646 people simultaneously playing musical bumps and we hope with full participation of our pupils we will smash this!

This will be a sponsored event and the children should be encouraged to get as much support as they possibly can. The funds raised from this event will be used to implement many of the ideas the children presented to us for Playground Development and Equipment.

Children will be issued a sponsor form this week. Please make the most of Easter family gatherings to get sponsorship for this exciting World Record Attempt!

This will be a competitive game and the winner of the game will receive a Trophy engraved with the event details, theirs to keep. In addition, upon successful attainment of the Guinness World Record all children will receive a special commemorative certificate in recognition of their involvement.

Music for the Game will be carefully selected and only tracks considered as appropriate for our pupils will be included.

We anticipate media interest on the day so children should bring their best ‘Game Face’! Parents are welcome to come and watch but will not be permitted to enter the main Games Area inside the pitch. We will also need help on the day but we will let you know separately about this.

Please note: as well as possible press photography setting the scene and congratulating the winner, the event requires to be filmed (video and photos) to provide evidence to Guinness World Records that we have broken the record. Filming will be done by staff/parent helpers/professionals though the school will retain control of all media. GWR may use our media in their book/web site etc. but we will not submit photos to GWR where children are personally identifiable without obtaining permission.  The winner’s name requires to be confirmed to Guinness but other than this, no names will be provided to GWR and to avoid any doubt, the winner will only be identified in photos with permission.

Please encourage your children to fully support this exciting event and to become part of the successful team earning the status of World Record Holder!

Best wishes from Our Lady of The Missions, The PSA and The Playground Development Committee
