Dear Bishop John,
“I believe in the Holy Spirit.”
As a parishioner of St Joseph’s I am asking to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation in St Mirin’s Cathedral on Wednesday 25th April 2018 with Our Lady of the Missions Primary School.
In receiving the Sacrament of Confirmation with faith, I will be ‘sealed with the gift of the Holy Spirit’. I will be made more like Jesus and come closer to him. I will be   made more fully a member of his Church and I will be given a special strength to give witness to Jesus in my life.
I have chosen the name of __________________________ for my Confirmation name.
I ask St. ______________________ to pray for me and to inspire me to be more like Jesus in my daily life.
I have chosen the name of St. ________________________  because …………………………………………………………………………………………………………

Yours sincerely

CONFIRMATION

RITE OF ENROLMENT 25th and 26th  NOVEMBER 2017 JOSEPH’S CHURCH
There will be a short Rite of Enrolment during all masses on the weekend of 25th  and 26th   November in St. Joseph’s Church. This is for all children who will be receiving the Sacrament of Confirmation in St. Mirin’s Cathedral on 25th April 2018.
Parents should bring their child to any Mass and ideally sponsors should attend, if they live locally. Sponsors should be over the age of 16 and a practising Catholic. Father will address the parents, sponsors, children and then the parish community asking that we all work together to support the children in their preparation to receive the Holy Spirit.
Children should wear their own clothes, NOT school uniform.
The children will be writing a letter to Bishop John, asking to receive the Sacrament. They will outline the reasons why they have chosen their saint’s name as an inspiration in their daily lives.
A letter will be sent home so that it can be counter signed by parents/carers. They will present this letter to Fr. Stephen at the Mass.
Reminder of Mass times in St. Joseph’s Church – Saturday Vigil 6pm, Sunday Masses 10am 12 noon and 6pm.
