Due to the success of last year’s appeal, Our Lady of the Missions are hoping to support the ‘Mary’s Meals Backpack Appeal’ again.
As you know, the backpacks are sent to schools across Africa, packed with equipment which can better aid children’s learning. Mary’s Meals request that we provide:
- Pens, pencils, crayons
- Notepad
- Rubber, ruler, sharpener, pencil case
- Towel
- Shorts or skirt, t-shirt or dress
- Flip-flops or sandals
- Soap, toothbrush, toothpaste
- Small ball
- Spoon
The backpack should be labelled indicating whether it is for a boy or a girl and with a suggested age. (Please don’t be tempted to include any liquids (including soap) or any food. These items can cause problems when the backpacks are going through customs.
If you would be able to support this charity, we would greatly appreciate one bag from each family. The bags can be brought in from Monday 12th June and will be collected on Tuesday 20th June. Please do not hand in a backpack before the 12th.
