Newsletter – 27th March 2015

Dear Parents

A short reminder of events taking place in the last week of this term before we break for Easter Holidays at 2.30pm on Thursday 2nd April.

Photographs
Tempest photographs will take individual and family photographs on Tuesday 31st March and Wednesday 1st April. Pupils should wear formal uniform including shirts and ties on these days.

 God’s Loving Plan
Rana Keane, Religious Advisor Paisley Diocese, will give a presentation on the new Relationship and Moral Education Programme being introduced across Scotland. God’s Loving Plan replaces Education for Love as the ‘sex education’ programme for pupils from P1-P7. This programme will be taught after Easter and it is important that parents are aware of the content in order to discuss matters further in advance of lessons being taught, particularly at P6 and P7 where issues regarding maturation will be dealt with in more detail.

The presentation will take place in the school hall at 6.00pm on Tuesday 31st March – please note that pupils should not attend this presentation.

Lockerbie Manor
Parents of pupils from P6 are invited to attend a meeting at 7.00pm on Tuesday 31st March in the school to be given information about the residential visit to Lockerbie Manor which will take place in November for the primary seven year. This is an initial information evening for parents and there will be a further meeting in P7.

Roll Back the Stone and School Choir
Tickets are still available priced at £3.50 for the Easter Cantata Roll Back the Stone which will be staged in Eastwood Theatre at 1.45pm on Wednesday 1st April. P6 pupils have been rehearsing for this performance as we journey through Lent together. The school choir, which was highly successful at the Glasgow Music Festival winning first place in the Hymn Singing category, will also take to the stage at the beginning of the performance.

 House Easter Bonnet Competition
Following on the success of last year’s competition there will be a House Easter Bonnet competition on Wednesday 1st April. Children should design and decorate an Easter bonnet in their house colour. There will be a prize for the best bonnet in each house.

School Closes
School will close for Easter holidays at 2.30pm on Thursday 2nd April and re-open on Monday 20th April at the usual time.

On behalf of everyone can I wish you and your family a very happy and holy Easter.

Yours sincerely
