PROVOST’S DEBATE Primary 7 October 2014

Each Primary 7 class in the Authority is invited to take part in a debate in the Council Chambers, Eastwood Park.  Provost Alastair Carmichael will guide the children in a topical debate of their choice.  The classes will learn about Council debating procedures and protocols.

The topics for the classes are

P7a  –  This house believes that stricter punishment is the solution to the problem of increasing rates of juvenile crime

P7b –  This house believes that medicine should be free world wide.

P7c –  This house believes that it should be illegal to cycle on the road if you are younger than 16.

P7d –  This house believes that nuclear weapons are essential,

 Perhaps we have some future politicians in the making!

Primary 7d is on Wednesday 22 Oct 9.45am – 11.45am  

Primary 7b is on Friday 24 Oct- 9.45am – 11.45am  

Primary 7c is on Monday 27 Oct  – 9.45am – 11.45am  

Primary 7d is on Friday 31 Oct – 9.45am – 11.45am  

  • Children will walk to the Council Chambers, through Eastwood Park.
  • Full school uniform to be worn (shirt and tie)
  • Children will be back in time for lunch
