We have done a lot of rehearsals for our Nativity play. We are all so excited and cannot wait to perform in front of our families.

In language Cameron was highlighting the main ideas on a text about touch. We then made notes on this. I learned that there are nerves in your fingers that let you touch.

We have been learning about more of our five senses. We were learning about taste and hearing. For taste we had to write rhyming sentences. – Alexander, Ava, Riley and Corinne. For learning about hearing we played a game where one person was blindfolded and then someone else made lots of different noises and we had to point where the noise was coming from. It was quite difficult and we now know that our hearing can play tricks on us. – Rebecca, Lily, Emily C and Corinne.

In language this week Mrs Grubb’s side got to watch a cartoon about Mater and the Ghost Light. It was funny. We had to write a storyboard to show the main ideas. Then we had to talk about the characters of the Sheriff and Mater. We completed character profiles and character grids where we decided if the characters showed certain characteristics like smart, fearless, caring etc.

In maths this week some people were making different numbers using our tens and units. – Rory, Naomi and Areeb

In maths some of us have been learning about pictograms. Some people went to different classes and collected information and then had to make pictograms. – Lucy G, Riley, Alexander and Corinne.

In maths we have still been learning about halves and quarters we have been shading in pictures and playing games. – Emilia
We have also been learning about symmetry where we had half a picture and had to complete it. Farhan

Some people have been practising their musical skills so that they can play an instrument in the Nativity. – Calum
