Week beginning 3 November
In Language this week we have been learning to write instructions. We have to use words like first, then, next to order the instructions and are being careful not to miss any important ones out.
We have also been learning about ‘adjectives’ and were thinking of good words to describe nouns in different sentences.
We have been thinking a lot about food! In Health we are discussing why we eat food and in French we are practising food vocabulary and can accept or refuse food. In Science we are investigating food chains and why plants are so important in the chain. We learned new words ‘producers’ and ‘consumers’ to describe living things in the food chain. We made food chains by drawing living things and sticking them in order onto paper chains we made!
In Maths
Holly had to think about the amount of money to buy things because she wasn’t allowed to get any change. She could have used coins to help her. Beth and Aila used coins to help them with this problem. Well done!
Christopher was also able to work out which coins to use for the money problem because he had coins in front of him.
Lucy Combe had to write calculations by using certain numbers on the board. The numbers were 2, 4, 1 and 8. Well done Lucy!
Max McKie had to think carefully to put all the British coins in order of smallest to largest. But he did it. He also had to find four ways to make 50p.
