SQA Appeals & Exceptional Circumstances 2023

This year the appeals process has changed. It has reverted to the system that was in place before the pandemic.

Essentially, this means that the appeals process does not involve schools sending away alternative evidence as was the case last year.

The appeals process remains free and will allow all learners to request a clerical check of their exam script by a senior examiner if they feel they have not got the result they deserve or feel they should have received.

The appeals proves will be covered in more detail with the publication of the ‘My Exams’ booklet in the coming weeks. However, should you need more information please click on the following link:

Please note* the Exceptional Circumstance system will operate as normal for learners who cannot sit an exam due to ‘exceptional circumstances’.

S3 Duke of Edinburgh – Tasks

All S3 students completing the Bronze DOFE Award should now have their edofe accounts setup.

Students should go to the edofe website and try logging in with their login details. More information regarding logging in can be found on the DOFE Google Classroom.

Here is a video to help you use the edofe app: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D80IGvCwbhM

Once students are into the edofe website, they should complete all the details regarding their three sections: Skill, Physical and Volunteering.

I need to know what the goal/aim is for each section, who the assessor is and the assessor’s email address and phone number.
Once all of these details are entered, students should ‘Submit the Section for Approval.
Here is a video to help you fill in a section: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9c3pQgTtEFU
Deadline: Friday, 13th January 2023 to have all three sections submitted and approved. (If a section has not been started yet, can you let Mr Boag know).
Any problems with the above, students should message Mr Boag through the Google Classroom.
