SQA Appeals & Exceptional Circumstances 2023

This year the appeals process has changed. It has reverted to the system that was in place before the pandemic.

Essentially, this means that the appeals process does not involve schools sending away alternative evidence as was the case last year.

The appeals process remains free and will allow all learners to request a clerical check of their exam script by a senior examiner if they feel they have not got the result they deserve or feel they should have received.

The appeals proves will be covered in more detail with the publication of the ‘My Exams’ booklet in the coming weeks. However, should you need more information please click on the following link:

Please note* the Exceptional Circumstance system will operate as normal for learners who cannot sit an exam due to ‘exceptional circumstances’.
