Advanced Higher

Advanced Higher Geography is based very much on the development of Geographical Skills and Techniques.  Pupils are expected to produce two folio pieces which contribute 70% of their overall grade.

The Geographical Issue teaches pupils skills of critical analysis, requiring them to review 3 articles and draw conclusions on their reliability.

The Geographical Study teaches pupils fieldwork techniques which they then use to undertake their own research and draw conclusions.

Homework

Much of this course is independent learning and pupils will be expected to complete personal reading to widen their knowledge, in addition to completing formal written exercises.
Much of the folio work will require to be completed in the pupil’s own time as the term progresses
