Apologies for the lack of blogs up until today and also the bombardment of blogs from today. We have finally managed to get ours working after some technical difficulties with uploading media. We are now thankfully up and running and are looking forward to bringing you regular blogs about our learning in 7.27. The ‘blogger’ is a class jobs so the blogs will be coming to you from pupils in the class. We hope you enjoy this insight into our class and learning!

OUTDOOR LEARNING
A week ago we went outside to apply our problem solving skills. We had been learning about angles within triangles and quadrilaterals, and also different types of these. We drew some outside and then got our peers to answer questions about these. We asked people to find the missing angles and also challenged others to find some exterior angles too! It was great.
PARTS OF SPEECH
At the start of the year we learned all about parts of speech and revised different areas as well as learning new things. We used QR codes to find out information through videos and games and then created an information leaflet to show what we had learned. We are applying this learning everyday in literacy and writing tasks.
MATHS WEEK
This week is maths week! We had a wonderful long weekend and have returned ready for a week of maths fun. So far this week we have been working in groups to research and investigate a famous mathematician. We all chose someone that we are interested in and we chose a sensible group to work in. Together we generated our success criteria for our presentations. We will be presenting these on Friday so hopefully we can post an update then. We created ChatterPix of some famous mathematicians too.
We’ve also been learning about coding and decoding which has been quite tricky but so much fun! We are looking forward to taking part in the p7 quiz on Friday and using our knowledge.
This afternoon we are heading outside for some numeracy orienteering and we can’t wait to update on how it went.
We also researched famous mathematician Katherine Johnson as a class, by using QR codes and our note-taking skills. We found out lots of information regarding women’s rights, the black lives matters movement, and also NASA and space. We are bursting with knowledge and will use this knowledge to complete a writing task on Friday.
Our First weeks
In class P7.27 to get to know each other more, we have made shields about each other. We have also traced our hands and written our biggest goals for primary 7 on them. Here are some of the classes best
We have also made our own numbers about me drawings. The numbers on the drawings are all important to us, such as our house number or our lucky number. Here are some of the best:
We have also been learning about children’s rights. we have all created our own mirrors that tell you some of the rights that we find most important. Here are 2 of our favourites:
From these rights, we have created our own class rules that we have all signed. Here it is
