Mental Maths ➕➖➗✖️

P7.25 enjoyed putting their mental maths skills to the test in our loop card challenge! They worked collaboratively to get the cards in the right order by answering different mental maths questions. There was lots of discussion on how to solve problems and a variety of different methods on how to get to the answer were revealed!

Class Charter 🌎🥰

Today we were having lots of discussion around children’s rights in order to create our Class Charter. We discussed the rights that were relevant to us in school and came up with actions on how we can respect the rights of others and ourselves. We also discussed actions for Mrs Paul to ensure that our rights are being upheld and respected.

Mearns Masters

Our first Mearns Masters pathway in Primary 7 is The Campaigners! Our campaign is to try and make children and adults more aware of the dangers that smoking cigarettes and e-cigarettes can have on our bodies so we can live a healthy life.

We started off by exploring and researching the effects that smoking has on the body. We also looked into the types of first aid we can use if something more fatal happens as a result of smoking i.e. heart attack or stroke.

In groups we showcased our learning  through creating our own videos!

Gastronomers Showcase Event 🎉

Today we hosted our Mexican Fiesta showcase in the library which we transformed into a restaurant!

The class was split into groups with each making either tacos, enchiladas or Mocktails.

We used the skills that we have developed over the 6 weeks to cook our food and worked together to present our finished dishes.

We had a great time trying the food, hosting our special guests, listening to Mexican music and wearing our moustaches 🎉

Jubilee Art 🇬🇧

In celebration of the Jubilee we created a Corgi inspired flag because this is Queen Elizabeth’s favourite animal.

We used paint to create a vibrant flag and then glued our Corgi’s to take a central position on our painting.

Happy Jubilee everyone! 👑🇬🇧🎉

Margarita Mocktails 🇲🇽

Today our whole class went up to the kitchen to create our very own Mexican inspired mocktails.

We used lime cordial, soda water, ice, syrup, orange juice, sugar and salt to make our drinks 🍋

We then blended our mixture together to create a slush like texture and used lime to line our glasses and mixed the top of the glass in sugar and salt to make the garnish 🧂

Cheers 🍹

Gastronomers Group 2

Today Group 2 of our Gastronomers made our vegetarian enchiladas in the kitchen. We enjoyed preparing the vegetables, packing up our mixture in tortilla parcels and baking them in the oven with cheese!

Next week our whole class will be making some Mexican themed Mocktails – we can’t wait!

Sports Day 🏆

We had a great time at our Sports Day this morning with all members of the class running excellently in the races and having lots of fun in the potted sports.

Well done to our medalists!! Paul Rolfe won Gold in the Primary 6 boys sprint, closely followed by Oliver Dean winning Bronze 🥇🥉

In the girls race, Mia McCamon won Silver after a very close sprint finish 🥈

Well done to all and many thanks to the parents who came along to support us today!
