In celebration of the Jubilee we created a Corgi inspired flag because this is Queen Elizabeth’s favourite animal.
We used paint to create a vibrant flag and then glued our Corgi’s to take a central position on our painting.
Happy Jubilee everyone! 👑🇬🇧🎉
This week one of our targets has been a research task investigating Scottish tartan and the history of Scottish Clans.
We then created our own kilts with the tartan of our choosing and designed our own sporran.
Happy Burns Day everyone!
Today in 6.22 we completed a Christmas themed mixed media art project using water coloured paints.
We created, blended and explored different shades for our Christmas tree, background scene and experimented with different brush strokes to create a realistic texture of the branches.
We then added strips of card to create a window scene and decorated our tree with bright acrylic paint baubles.
This afternoon we spent time making our own Christmas cards. We showed excellent listening skills by following instructions to ensure that our cards were carefully assembled.
We enjoyed creating a Christmas bauble that looked similar to Santa Claus and we then chose who to give our cards to and wrote a message inside for them.
Here are some of our finished designs!
Today marked the first day of advent in 6.22 and our classroom has been transformed into a Christmas Wonderland!
We enjoyed decorating our tree with baubles, tinsel, lights and snowflakes and sharing our excitement about what December will bring both in school and out!
Remember, remember the 5th of November!
At the end of last week in 6.22 we were really excited to celebrate Bonfire Night over the weekend – and even made our own city scape using chalk.
This piece of art required us to use a range of skills from designing our buildings, cutting out our skyline, using small and large chalk to create the night sky scene and smudging to create a glow effect.
Our art is now on display outside of our classroom but here is an insight into our chalk masterpieces!
Things were getting spoooooky today in 6.22 as we created our own Halloween pop-up cards! We enjoyed adding the ghosts, bats and haunted house to our design and learning how folding and cutting the card in certain places meant that the scene would look 3D when you open it.
Afterwards we added to our spooky setting through creating windows for our haunted house, using metallic sharpies to decorate and adding spiders web.
We are looking forward to our dress-up costume day tomorrow in school to get into the Halloween spirit even more!
