FAMILY EVENT CALENDAR 2025 (Aug-Dec)

At Colquhoun Park EYC we recognise the importance of working together with our families to create the best possible outcomes for our little learners.

Whilst we encourage parental input and involvement all year round, we equally respect that life is busy and its not always possible to drop in to centre or to stand and catch up with keyworkers and drop off or collection times.

We try to make getting involved and keeping up to date with centre life as easy as possible by using varied means of communication such as email, social media, learning journals, blogs, learning walls etc.

Below we have listed some dates we plan to host events or where things in centre are happening which we may need your support in or we would just like to invite you along to take part – please remember there is no pressure on any of our families to attend events, we are simply creating opportunity for you to do so.

If you intend to keep your child off during this period, we ask that you email centre to advise eyc@colquhounpark.e-dunbarton.sch.uk  this enables us to ensure staff are deployed effectively.

Spooky Scavenger Hunt!

Big well done to Rachael who organised another successful ‘Spooky Scavenger Hunt’.

Quality Improvement Review

Throughout the week of the 4th of November our school and EYC will be visited by the Quality Improvement Team. The team will be spending a week in centre with children, staff and SLT. They will be evaluating practice, delivery, interactions and everything else in between.  We encourage you to say hello to any faces you don’t recognise and take the opportunity to let the QI team know what you think about our centre.

Lost Property

Lost property and missing items seems to be on the rise. As a centre we try our best to ensure that children’s belongings are returned to the right owner, however, despite our best efforts this does not always happen. We completely understand how frustrating this can be not to mention costly!

Can I ask that everyone have a look at home through your children’s belongings particularly shoes/hats/gloves, if you find something that  you do not recognise as your child’s can we ask that you return it to centre in the hope it can be reunited with its rightful owner.

As always we would ask that names be placed on all items to support us in keeping your children’s belongings safe – sharpies are available in centre if required.

Progress Meetings

Sharing your child’s progress with you is important to us. We believe that working together with a shared understanding of what your child needs is paramount in getting the very best out of their learning journey, supporting them to reach their true potential.

Date and time slots have now been released.

We will endeavour to get as close to your requested time/day as possible, however should we be unable to accommodate due to demand, we will contact you with an alternative.

Appointments are made on a first come, first served basis with, so please ensure you get back to us as soon as possible to avoid disappointment.
