Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) affects how people communicate and interact with the world. More than one in 100 people are on the autism spectrum and there are around 700,000 autistic adults and children in the UK. Public Protection in East Dunbartonshire

Child Protection is the responsibility of the East Dunbartonshire Child Protection Committee (EDCPC) and Adult Support and Protection is the responsibility of East Dunbartonshire Adult Protection Committee (EDAPC).

The committees ensure arrangements are in place and are working effectively to bring about good outcomes for adults and children. Both committees are inter-agency groups with responsibility for ensuring effective adult and child protection services across the local area.

Both committees are chaired by an independent convenor. The convenor is appointed for a two-year term, our current convenor of both committees is Carole Auld.
