What are Children’s Rights?

Children’s rights are the basic rights and freedoms that every child is entitled to regardless of race, religion or abilities. These rights are set out in the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC) and are designed to ensure that all children are safe, healthy, listened to; able to grow, learn, and thrive.

Children’s rights help guide how adults make decisions that affect children, placing their wellbeing, voice and best interests at the heart of everything we do.

2026 Curriculum Event – Drop in session – POSTPONED

UPDATE – Thank you to everyone who took the time to complete our Curriculum Event interest form. Based on feedback received, we have made the decision to postpone this event. We will send out alternative options for families in the near future.

As always we like to remind everyone that we have an open door policy when it comes to your child’s learning and development opportunities, and would encourage anyone who has any questions to reach out.

Our priority is your child’s wellbeing whilst in our care, and we rely on your input to ensure we can continue to get it right for both them and their family.

We will have an open door between 10:30am & 12:30pm on this day.

UP, UP and AWAY!

Since August 2025, staff in centre have been familiarising themselves with the Up, Up and Away document. This resource is part of the CIRCLE (Child Inclusion Research into Curriculum Learning & Education) framework, and has been created to support early years education in Scotland, by providing strategies to support the development of literacy in our little learners.

In January 2026 we will be introducing this resource into centre, focusing on our environment and using the audit tools and guidance to ensure we are creating a space which supports & promotes literacy development to the highest standards.

Here we have created a short video to explain the ‘Literacy Caterpillar’ and the components that this is made up of.
