Roses are Red..

Love is in the air this Valentines days! We decided to win over our valentines with some beautiful poems. We wrote them all together then stuck them onto a beautiful love heart border. The poem we chose was..

Roses are Red

Violets are Blue

Sugar is Sweet

And so are you!

Afterwards cupid arrived to deliver our Valentines day cards. We were all lucky to get one!

Better Latte than Never

Last Friday we were lucky enough to be invited to the café run by Transition class and Pine class. We had a fantastic snack and enjoyed socialising with the other classes. This week we finally got round to doing our Chinese New Year inspired science lessons. We made fireworks in a Jar and magic chopsticks.

What a week!

Last Friday we had an awesome Scottish Party to celebrate Burn’s Day. We danced to Scottish music and all wore different tartans. It was a great way to end the week! This week we have been working hard on telling the time, our favourite game was clock bingo.

Our outing this week was to the garden centre where we decided to buy a proper bird feeder to attract more birds into the sensory garden for the British Bird Watching Week. We also tried out some of the garden furniture for fun!

Feed the Birds

After watching and learning about all the animals that have been affected by the fires in Australia, we decided to help the animals that live around us. We made food chains out of pipe cleaners and Cheerios, then hung them out in the sensory garden.

Old and New Transport-FAOL

After learning about the Glasgow underground and how old it was, we decided to look at how other transport has changed over the years. We watched some videos with lots of old and new types of transport. Afterwards we tested our knowledge by sorting out images into old and new!

Why does it always rain on me?

As part of our Glasgow theme we  decided to learn why it rains so much in Glasgow.  We learnt all about the water cycle and then completed 2 science experiments. We recreated the water cycle in a bag, then made a rain cloud inside a jar. It was awesome!

We continued our Glasgow theme learning all about the Glasgow underground. We took our own pretend trip all around and even learnt a song we could sing all about the subway!

We’re Back!

Its been a great first week back after the holidays. We didn’t take long to get into learning all about Glasgow. We were inspired by Glasgow’s Coat of Arms and decided to make our own. We decorated them with pictures of things we liked.

We also made a super healthy vegetable stir fry in cookery this week. It had peppers, mushrooms, carrots, garlic and soy sauce.
