ART & DESIGN TRIPS

In the Art Department we regularly seek opportunities for our pupils to engage with the Arts out with the curriculum and have organised a number of trips and activity days over the years, from portfolio workshops to back stage tours of theatres to venturing as far as Italy and even New York! Below you will find information on our current trips and you can view images from our previous adventures here.

BGE LONDON TRIP

S1 London Trip 2019

Our S1 trip to London runs annually (usually in May) and is now in its third year, linking directly with our BGE courses and World of Work.

The S1 London trip has been organised to inspire creativity in the young people of Stewarton Academy as well as helping to build bonds and strengthen peer relationships. It encompasses a variety of fun educational attractions to not only suit pupils with an interest in Art and Design, but those interested in History and Science!

The itinerary (subject to booking) includes the following:

  • Warner Bros. Harry Potter Studio Tour with lesson
  • Body Worlds
  • London Eye with lesson
  • Imperial War Museum
  • London Dungeons
  • An evening performance of a West End Theatre Show
  • A visit to Airport Bowl
  • Visit to M&M World & the Lego Store
  • Guided sightseeing tour

The price of the trip also includes:

  • Return coach to Glasgow Central departing from school
  • Return train ticket from Glasgow Central to London Euston
  • Two nights’ accommodation with continental breakfast
  • Two evening meals
  • Coach transfer between destinations in London
