I have the pleasure of sharing some excellent personal art work submitted by our highly talented pupils! I’ll be creating a gallery specifically for this to showcase the range of skills and interests of our students. If you have something you would like featured, email Miss Beattie at rachel.beattie@eastayrshire.org.uk.

School Closure Announcement
Following the First Minister’s announcement about school closures at the end of the week, the Art & Design department wishes to assure all pupils, parents and carers that the utmost support will be given at this challenging time to minimise the impact on learning as far as possible.
In the coming days all year groups will be provided with online course materials, resources and tasks which can be accessed via Show My Homework and will also be made available on this page. Please check back regularly for updates.
For the senior phase, the focus for the remainder of the week will be to complete any outstanding work for the practical portfolios. As of next week, classes will be issued with set tasks, critical studies notes and practice questions via SMH to revise and prepare for the written exam. Please also use the links provided on the bottom right of this page to assist with revision.
If you have any questions or concerns please do not hesitate to contact myself or your teacher via email.
Please take care and look after yourselves and your loved ones.

- 12 schools will each receive a £100 voucher for art materials
- 12 schools will get a free artist-led workshop
- All winning artworks will feature in a colourful calendar posted to every school in Scotland
THINK:
- What do you know about climate change?
- How has climate change started to affect different parts of the world?
- Have you noticed any effects of climate change where you live
- What could happen if temperatures rose across the world?
- What could happen if the sea level rose?
- How could the landscape change in the next 50 years where you live? In other parts of the world?
- What can people do to slow down climate change? Recycle, reuse, repair, think about their carbon footprint, conserve energy, conserve water, limit food waste, buy local, reduce meat consumption, avoid single use plastic
- What are the best ways to communicate the urgency of action against climate change?
MAKE:
Create a picture relating to climate change. You could consider the effects or consequences of global warming and/or the ways in which it could be prevented. Any materials (new or recycled), techniques or processes (for example drawing, painting, printmaking, textiles, photography, computer aided design, collage, montage) to make your piece as long as each entry is two-dimensional.
