The Robert Burns Academy Supported Learning Centre

Our Rights Respecting Classroom Charter is our guide to action and behaviour on a daily basis within the Supported Learning Centre. All staff and pupils in the SLC had a say in the terms of the Charter and created it together. First of all, we identified four rights that are particularly important to us. These are:

Article 28 – Right to Education

Article 12 – Right for Views of the Child

Article 2 – Non-discrimination

Article 19 – Protection from Violence, Abuse and Neglect

We then agreed on the actions we all need to take to ensure that everyone’s rights are respected in the SLC. All pupils and staff have committed to this to ensure that the SLC is a happy, safe place where everyone can thrive.
