S5 & 6 – DYW
Senior pupils have been working closely with Walter Smith, Business Ambassador, DYW Ayrshire. Walter has been supporting us to develop a business plan with a horticulture theme. This process has involved creating our business logo, our potential market, our potential products and our business ethos. The best part so far has been creating our business name and logo. We hope you like it.
As you can see from our logo we are aiming to produce and sell home grown fruit and vegetable plants. The unique aspect of our business will be to use some of our produce to establish our own brand of pickled vegetables. We will soon be working on the marketing and labelling for our pickles.
We are currently experimenting on producing our own fruit and vegetables using a low impact and low-cost process. We have utilised household waste to develop our own seedlings. Fingers crossed that we are successful, and this will be the beginning of our very own Robert Burns Market Gardeners Pickles.
