A warm welcome from everyone in the Supported Learning Centre.
The Supported Learning Centre is a specialist educational provision situated within The Robert Burns Academy which provides holistic support for young people with a wide range of Additional Support Needs. Young people benefit from positive, close working relationships with Key Teachers and Key Classroom Assistants and are included in a full curricular provision. Young people in the SLC are fully supported throughout their time at school to help them achieve their full potential.
The young people and their individual needs are very much at the heart of everything we do within the SLC. All pupils are given opportunities to access mainstream classes where appropriate with some achieving National and Higher qualifications. We work closely with parents, carers and partner agencies to ensure our Getting It Right For Every Child approach is successful and inclusive.
Our dedicated team of staff support young people using a wide range of approaches including restorative sessions, resilience building, rights based discussions and Nurture. Staff also work closely with the Educational Psychologist to ensure a high quality provision where pupils are given widespread opportunities to develop their skills and abilities in a safe, nurturing, and supportive environment.
