Sorry for the lateness of this post. There is just so much going on at school!
On Thursday 28th May, all P6 children took on various leadership roles in organising the school’s potted sports day. All of our P6 children stepped up with responsibility, resilience and strong leadership skills. They worked collaboratively to pull this off and make the day a great success for all P1-5 children. Here is a snippet of the day. Look at the sheer joy on those faces!!!
We have enjoyed studying the old school log books and registers. Children have recognised some family names. Our log books go back as far as the 1800’s. The children were impressed with the penmanship of the entries and finding out about the staff and pupils from a bygone age.

P5-7 went to Loch Doon to learn about water safety and drowning prevention. We learned so much from CPR to contacting the correct emergency services to ways to assist people in difficulties. The staff at each of the activities were extremely knowledgeable and were impressed by our common sense and applying the learning in different situations.

P6/7 are going to tackle arguably one of the most iconic songs ever!
Although this song began its journey in November of 1975, it stayed at number 1 for 9 consecutive weeks, making it the first number 1 of 1976!
Freddie Mercury and Queen – Bohemian Rhapsody!
Unfortunately I was unable to attend this event on Momday but I received a couple of photos from a colleague at my previous school:

The children all shared how much they enjoyed their day at RBA.
The children all had an amazing time at the Science Centre today. Here is just a snippet of what they got up to:

I thought I’d take some photos of this stunning facility that we have had the pleasure of staying for the past 3 days. Your children have been a credit to you, using polite manners and respectful attitudes. The staff have commended them for excellent listening and following instructions. We have all had a blast! Now all the activities are done they are looking forward to coming home!

Be on the lookout for residential log books in bags so that you can share in your child’s experience!

Our last day and children are saying they dont want to leave.
We began this morning with some team building activities – ask your child the aim of each:

Then we had a very active session of UV dodgeball.

This afternoon we participated in some Orienteering activites, using the maps of the grounds to find QR codes outside.

After a quick break we then headed into the fitness studio to complete some short circuit activities.
