Potted Sports with P6 leaders

Sorry for the lateness of this post. There is just so much going on at school!

On Thursday 28th May, all P6 children took on various leadership roles in organising the school’s potted sports day. All of our P6 children stepped up with responsibility, resilience and strong leadership skills. They worked collaboratively to pull this off and make the day a great success for all P1-5 children.  Here is a snippet of the day. Look at the sheer joy on those faces!!!

Ochiltree PS history

We have enjoyed studying the old school log books and registers.  Children have recognised some family names. Our log books go back as far as the 1800’s. The children were impressed with the penmanship of the entries and finding out about the staff and pupils from a bygone age.

Loch Doon

P5-7 went to Loch Doon to learn about water safety and drowning prevention. We learned so much from CPR to contacting the correct emergency services to ways to assist people in difficulties.  The staff at each of the activities were extremely knowledgeable and were impressed by our common sense and applying the learning in different situations.
