We have had a super busy but exciting week in P6.
On Monday we had the Chess Championship final, which saw Jamie being crowned as our Chess Champion of 2026. We also had a visit from the RNLI where we were learning all about water safety. We also had a visit from the Oral Health team where we were learning about the best way to look after our teeth, and the different foods and drinks that are best for our teeth.
On Tuesday we spent the day in our houses. We got to take part in different activities throughout the day such as litter picking, kahoot quiz, a fantastic visit from Eddie and Amy from The Cotton Trail and some fantastic Commonwealth Games art activities.
On Wednesday we had a visit from Rebecca who is an optometrist at Shaw Eye Care. We were learning all about our eyes and the importance of getting our eyes tested and checked regularly. We also had a visit from Gerry, who works for the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service, he was teaching us all about fire safety, showing us some of the equipment that is used by firefighters and the importance of having fitted working smoke alarms in our houses.
On Thursday we had our Family Fun Day & a visit from a chef who works at Lochside House Hotel. Finally we finished off our week with some Laser Tag & a wonderful silent disco.
