Another busy week in Primary 1.
This week we began learning to use digraphs, we had a focus on “sh”. We have been talking part in lots of activities, including shape art, building shops & ships, as well as reading and writing lots of words containing the sh digraph. We also enjoyed reading in our groups and creating a visualisation of the characters from “The Tiger Who Came To Tea”.
In numeracy, we are beginning to look at number patterns. We explored counting in 2s. We also continued to use different strategies at our calculation station and had a fantastic time creating our own ‘snakes and ladders’ games on the 100 squares. This helps us with our counting, number awareness, dot patterns and turn taking!
We got creative and designed some wonderful spring themed art for the Catrine Show competition. We talked about all of the wonderful things about spring, including the lovely weather, beautiful flowers, baby animals and buzzing bees. We tried to include lots of these in our design.
The highlight of the week however, for Mrs Hasson, Miss Kockaya and lots of our pupils was definitely stopping by the park during our Thursday afternoon walk. We had a fantastic time.
