Primary 5T had a great session yesterday with Christine from Childsmile as part of our Health and Wellbeing programme. The children worked in teams to complete a sugar quiz. This involved looking at the contents of different food items and trying to work out how much sugar was in each. The children are now aware of how to check food labels, the contents their food contains and the benefits of looking after their teeth.
Well the children have finally made a start on their shields, and boy, are they keen. They have carefully cut out the frame and are now transferring their symbols and codes on to each quadrant. They really will be works of art by the time they are finished. Well done P5i.
Our sound for this week is words containing  ‘oy’ and Task E – finding synonyms using our words.
Our math homework is a plea from me. Could children please learn their timetables? Pupils are enjoying their work with decimals but many any are struggling to complete decimal/fraction tasks due to poor tables knowledge, which then affects their confidence. There are many games online to help support their learning – I have put many on their Bug Cub accounts – but simply writing out and repeating each table,  will be of great benefit.
Pupils had a super day doing various activities connected with Pudsey and to health and well being. Thank you all for your generous donations.
The day started off well with a school  fitness session and ended with a gymnastic marathon circuit for P.E., so children should be well exercised – and worn out.
Poetry winners
We also watched recording of pupils reciting their Owl and the Pussycat poem and two winners were chosen for their super actions and recital. Many congratulations to Luke and Ellie.
Pupils are now looking forward to learning our next poem! Go P5i.
P5i being positively engaged during Positive Choices week. Which included walking to school in various forms of dress, Â from odd socks to crazy hair.
Pupils were engaged in a wide variety of activities and events this week. Caring and sharing together during sports activities, learning individually how to be creative using poetry as a stimulus, being positive role models to younger pupils and having fun as they take care of their school environment and themselves. Here is a snapshot of life in P5i during Positive Choices week.
