P5E had a special party to celebrate the end of term and to say goodbye to Mila and Alfie who are moving on to a new school.
I enjoyed teaching you all this year and I wish you a fun summer. All the best for P6! 🙂

P5E Summer Haiku Poems
P5E explored haiku poems and tried to write their own. The rules:
*One main theme or feeling
*3 lines
*Line 1: 5 syllables Line 2: 7 syllables Line 3: 5 syllables

Thursday topic rotations week 2
P5 had a visitor
P5 were lucky to have a visitor this week. Elaine Paton came to share her knowledge and experience of pharmacy and how this links to the human body. She highlighted how germs spread and good hygiene by performing experiments. At the end pupils could ask questions relating to germs, illness and medications and some were very good.
Thank you Elaine for taking time to speak with us and the children gained a lot of knowledge from your visit. And just maybe some more pupils will consider a future career in pharmacy and medicine!
P5 Human Body Topic – Thursday Rotations
P5 are exploring more about the Human Body by taking part in rotations on Thursday afternoons. The classes have been mixed up into 3 groups and are getting the opportunity to work with all the P5 teachers. Each teacher is covering a different subject:

P5 Trip to the Science Centre
P5 enjoyed their day at the Glasgow Science Centre. Here’s just some of the fun they had during the day:
P5E measuring length
This week P5E have been exploring length through a variety of activities. They can convert between different units, write the same length using different units and accurately measure using rulers and metre sticks.
P5E Positive Choices
P5E helped litter pick around the school with their P2 buddies.
We also had a talk from the campus police. They explained their purpose,uniform and what their equipment was used for. We also discussed cyber bullying and how to stay safe.
The cyber bullying advice was reinforced by PC Milne and PC Drury.
P5E/P2S PowerPoint stories
P5E finally showed their PowerPoint stories to their P2 buddies. This was part Digital Learning week.
P2 seemed to enjoy the stories and also provided P5 with some constructive criticism. Well done P5E for working really hard on your stories.
