World Book Day – Thursday 2nd March 2023
To celebrate World Book Day children can bring in their favourite book to read to other children. If you have any children’s story books at home which you would like to donate to the school we will also be running a book swap shop on the day. Please do not feel obliged to buy any books or costumes for the day. The children are expected to come to school in their normal uniform as we do not wish to put additional financial pressure on parents. However, if your child already has a favourite book character costume and wishes to come dressed up then they may do so.
World Book Tokens were issued last week, please check your child’s schoolbag.
School lunches have a special menu that day, please see the attached poster.
P2/3 and P5/6 Time Connectives Fun
We have been learning lots about time connectives over the last few weeks to help us with our instruction writing. We have played fun games in class, used them in our writing and finally made our own board games to help us practise time connectives at home. Before we take our games home though, we thought we would practise playing them with P5/6. We all had great fun hearing some of the amazing sentences using time connectives that we came up with!
P7 Class Photo – Cumnock Chronicle

You can hand any donations into the school and we can collect from there. The raffle tickets will be handed out at school to all children in due course.
Again all money raised will be used for the children in the school. “
Scottish myths and legends with Primary 4
Pupils have been throughly enjoying their new topic. We have learned all about Nessie, the Kelpies and enjoyed the story of ‘The Wee Bannock”.
We are debating wether or not Nessie is real, what do you think?
We have been very lucky to have “Harris’s Mum” come in and show us how to make 3D models of the Kelpies using a really cool substance called Polymorph.
Harris and Flynn made a battle of the Bannocks at the creative area, and you can also see Eilidh working hard researching facts about our mythical creatures.
Have a super February break everyone!
Mrs Meek

Children’s Mental Health Week – Mon 6th – Fri 10th February
Let’s Connect is about making meaningful connections. Human beings thrive in communities, and this connection is vital for our wellbeing. When we have healthy connections – to family, friends and others – this can support our mental health and our sense of wellbeing. And when our need for rewarding social connections is not met, we can sometimes feel isolated and lonely – which can have a negative impact on our mental health.
As parents and carers, you play an important role in your child’s mental health. Click the link below to find a range of free resources that you can access:
