Changes to Lunch Provision

The ovens at our catering facility are currently out of service, so from Monday 16th February until further notice, menus offered to pupils will be amended to the selections listed below.

Our catering manager will request that ParentPay be updated to reflect only the available options, but should you come to make your child’s lunch bookings and the hot options and baked potatoes are still listed (except for Thursday), please do not select these as they will not be provided.

Please make your bookings for soup and sandwiches and second choices via ParentPay as usual to ensure the catering team have the correct numbers for lunches. Any alternative diets / allergies will be catered for.

We apologies for any inconvenience this may cause, but please contact the school on 01290 700351 if you have any queries.

Thank you

Whole School Achievement Assembly

We look forward to hosting our first achievement assembly of 2026 on Friday 13th February.

If your child has celebrated any achievements out-with school e.g. earned a swimming badge, learned to ride their bike, gained badges at a hobby etc., then they are able to bring in such items to share at this special assembly.

We look forward to celebrating the success of our pupils!

Changes to Lunch Menus

School Update

Due to ongoing oven faults at Catrine Kitchen there will be no baked potatoes until further notice. Unfortunately there may also be slight adjustments to daily menus until kitchen equipment is sorted.

Further updates will follow.

Please contact the school office if you have any issues. Please accept our apologies for any inconvenience caused.

Thank you.

Reading Bingo Challenge

We are taking part in the Scottish Book Trust Reading Schools Bingo Challenge next week.

Please see the poster being held up by Fraser and Logan of examples of activities that can be completed at home.

If you take any photos for the tasks, please feel free to send them in to the school at eaOchiltree.PS@eastayrshire.org.uk.

Good Luck and have fun marking off as many challenges as possible.

Thank you

Ochiltree TV

As part of a new initiative, we have created a new tab on our school website called “Ochiltree TV”. This will allow us to share videos created by classes as well as any films created as part of the Into Film programme.

We currently have links to videos showcasing:

  • P1/2’s rendition of “Up In the Morning Early” by Robert Burns
  • Primary 6/7’s explanation of Restorative Conversations
  • Bethlehem – The Musical – December 2025

P7 Transition Profiles

As part of our Primary 7 transition work with Robert Burns Academy, all Primary 7 pupils will be working on an online profile through Skills Development Scotland. This will involve pupils creating a secure online profile through their Glow email to track their achievements both in and out of school. These profiles can then be shared with staff at RBA securely.

All work will be completed in school, however should you wish your child not take part in this, please contact the school before Friday 30th January, when the first session will take place.

P7 Robert Burns Academy Transition – Home Economics Cooking Event

Dear Parents / Carers,

Due to the success of the Home Economics Taster Session held in The Robert Burns Academy in October, the department will be running another event on Tuesday 10th March where P7 pupils will get the chance to cook alongside one of their parents/carers.

Please find an information flyer below with all the details included.

There are two sessions available and places will be allocated on a first come first served basis – due to Health & Safety restrictions there are only 30 places available at each session.

Parents/carers can sign up by e-mailing the school mailbox, eaRobertBurns.Ac@eastayrshire.org.uk, and office staff will reply issuing a ticket which must be brought along on the day (screenshot of ticket is fine if unable to print) to gain access to the event.

Thank you
